Bi Jingquan is currently the Executive Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, and a member of the Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of Economic Affairs at the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee.

He has also held senior positions at multiple governmental departments, including: Secretary-General and Vice Chairman of National Development and Reform Commission, Member of the Leading Party Members Group and Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council, Secretary-General of the Leading Party Members Group, Commissioner of the former China Food and Drug Administration, and the Deputy Commissioner of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
